Item Category
Purposes
The main purpose of this module is to enable the administrator to view and manage the item category on the system. The item category that is actively available here will be displayed to the user for selecting the type of the product when they are adding the products on the system.
Navigation Path
Path: Masters > Item Category

Listing Screen
View list of all the item categories types that were previously added by the Administrator. Admin will have an option to add and update the Item Category. Admin will be able to search the Item Category using the filter option this is provided on the list. On the left side of the Listing, Admin will be able to filter the Item Category based on the Item Name.

Add Item Category: To add the Item Category, click on the below button

Add/Edit Item Category
- User will be able to Add/Update the Item Category from this page
- The user needs to fill in the Item category information to add/edit the Item Category in the system.

Fields available in the Add/Edit Item Category Form
- Item Category Name (Required): This is for specifying the name of the Item Category. For example, specify the item category name as Electronics, Lubricants.
- Type (Required field): This is for specifying the type for an item.
- Reference Code: This is for specifying the Refrence code for an Item type.
- Parent Item Category: This is for specifying the parent Item Category of the product. For example, if the Item Category is Lubricant then its parent Item type can be selected as Petroleum from the dropdown if it needs. If there is no parent type for the item, then it can be added as a parent type for other items.

4. Status (Required): Set the status of the Item Category– Active/Inactive using the dropdown list


- Admin can save the Item Category by submitting the form or can discard the Item Category.
- On Submission, the Item Category will be listed on the Item Category listing page.
